A few weeks ago, I wrote to you about how things are changing in the business world. This week, a few stats dropped into my inbox that proved the patterns hold across all industries. E-commerce is struggling to see growth too.
I’m not sharing these stats to scare you. I’m sharing them to encourage you.
Encourage?! How can slowed growth and layoffs be encouraging?
Yesterday, I got a voice note from a friend. She sensed major layoffs after her organization reported a rather hefty loss for the year.
But the message wasn’t what you might expect when you try to hear those words in your head. Her voice was upbeat. It was excited. There was a lilt to it that I hadn’t heard in her before.
She could FEEL what was on the horizon for her and was excited about the possibility of leaning into her side hustle business.
This is not to say that she’s not scared. It’s not to dishonor her feelings of fear and overwhelm. But she will admit that sometimes, we need a little snow globe-style shakeup to keep us from falling into a rut of burnout, exhaustion, and mechanical movement.
I’ve seen this recently in the online business space, too. So many coaches are shifting how they sell their courses and reach their audience because the old patterns have become too expected. Too boring. Too meh.
These changes that are happening in e-commerce and in the digital space are just the first push in what’s going to be a domino effect of changes throughout the business world. As buyers become choosier with where they spend their money and businesses start shifting the way they reach those customers, we’re in a prime position also to adjust how we navigate this world.
In 2020, the pandemic forced people to abandon traditional work and life.
By 2021, no one wanted to go back to the old norms.
In 2022, remote work has been normalized way more than ever, and workers have started to take life into their own hands more. See ya never, traditional office!
Now, I predict that 2023 will be the year where more people will lean into the dream that’s been brewing inside them for years — to pursue a business that lights their soul on fire and gets them excited to jump out of bed each morning.
If that’s you, I’d love to support you on that journey and show you some innovative ways to lean into new opportunities.
I’ve been a coach in other business programs before. I’ve seen what’s being taught over and over again. I’ve heard how the same lessons are getting regurgitated in different formats. And because I can sense that things are about to change drastically, I’ve adapted the solid lessons inside while simultaneously sharing innovative ways to think about how to reach your audience.
In other words, I’m not your status quo business coach, nor do I ever encourage status quo business endeavors.
I encourage boldness.
I encourage bravery.
I encourage you to blaze your own trail.
And there has never, ever, ever been a better time to take that step forward and create (or REcreate) something exciting for the world.
If you want to jump into your business dream or recalibrate something you’ve started but aren’t thrilled about, join me inside Roadpreneur School before Tuesday when the price goes up.
I cannot wait to encourage you on this new journey and inspire you to think about business differently because…
… we can’t keep going through the same old motions when the world is sending us fluorescent pink smoke signals telling us it’s time to change course and take the path less traveled.
